In 2024, UB was announced as the lead site for Empire AI, a statewide consortium to secure New York’s place at the forefront of AI research and innovation. Empire AI’s computing center at UB will be used by leading New York institutions to promote responsible research and development, create jobs and advance AI for the public good.
UB's health sciences schools will join these efforts to harness AI's capabilities to improve diagnostic methods, design personalized treatment plans, develop and hone surgical techniques, and more.
