Summer and Winter State Appointments

Opportunities for summer or winter employment by the state or Research Foundation are available for some individuals who meet the eligibility requirements.

Summer Winter

Winter Session Appointments for State Employees

Academic Year Faculty

Select Person Search > Select Person > Select Appointment
Select Type of Change:
1. Additional Commitment
2. Commitment Type: Regular
3. Payment Type: Winter Session
4. Number of payments not needed
5. Action is add/enter amount to be paid
6. SAVE and enter funding. Skip over payments or an error will occur if you try to change it.
7. Complete funding
8. Submit for approval
Beginning and end dates must be in the period 1/2/2025 and 1/17/2025

Payments for all winter session appointments will be paid on pay period 22 — check dated February 12, 2025.
Extra service payroll vouchers ARE required.
Prior approval form is NOT required.

Current Adjunct Instructors

If the Adjunct Instructor is working in the following spring semester, the Adjunct appointment must be completed first before the winter session appointment can be initiated because the employee uses the same line number as their adjunct appointment for their regular appointment. Please call Human Resources if you have an Adjunct Instructor ePTF that you need expedited.

6. SAVE and enter funding. Skip over payments or an error will occur if you try to change it.

New Winter Appointments

Acquire a line from your department or (if authorized) to choose a line
1. Use the titles of Lec 10 or Visiting Professor 10
Select Type of Change:
1. Add New Person
2. Appointment Type: Summer/Winter
3. Pay Basis: Fee
4. Select correct job title
5. Complete the remainder of the required fields
6. Submit for approval
Beginning and end dates must be in the period 1/2/2025 and 1/17/2025

Payments for all winter session appointments will be paid on pay period 22 — check dated February 12, 2025.
