Back by popular demand, the OCL is back, Fridays in 128 Capen! Our goal is to create a safe and friendly space for all UB students (graduate and undergraduate, domestic and international) to practice their oral communication skills and receive constructive feedback.
Informed by your feedback, we have evolved the program!
Through Navigate, you can now make individual and group appointments for interview, presentation, and English conversation and networking practice. Sessions will be held throughout the day on Fridays starting September 12th.
To make an appointment in Navigate, first select Care Unit: “Writing and Communication Support” then Location: CEW Oral Communication Lab 128 Capen and then the type of service you would like.
We will also have occasional presentations and workshops with guest speakers on topics related to Oral Communication. Check here for announcements!

“I really look forward to Fridays because it’s the OCL day and because I can talk to real people, and the rest of the week I only interact with models and papers in my lab.”
“I enjoy interacting with different people in OCL in a real way, just like in the first networking session. I can genuinely participate in a face-to-face situation where we talk to each other, get to know each other and don’t have to worry about making a fool of ourselves. It’s a clear process of building courage.”
