American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) Junior Fellowships

Overview

ASEF fellowship programs provide student financial and other support, allowing fellows to focus on their research. The purpose of the fellowship program is to strengthen research and study exchange between Slovenia and other countries to give talented Slovenian students the ability to realize their potential to the fullest.

The ASEF Junior Fellows Program to Slovenia is a one-year program, which enables young people to do a 10-week work/research visit at a university, company, or a research institute in the area of their field of study/expertise. The purpose of the fellowship program is to give talented young people of Slovenian heritage an opportunity to grow professionally, while also getting to experience Slovenia, its language and culture.

The American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) Junior Fellows program is a three-year program. The purpose of the fellowship program is to strengthen research and study exchange between Slovenia and other countries to give talented Slovenian students the ability to realize their potential to the fullest. In the first year of the program, students do a 10-week research visit at a university or a research institution in the area of their field of study/expertise.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:
  • be enrolled in an accredited higher education institution, regardless of the field of study, and to other young people of Slovenian heritage living abroad
  • have knowledge of the Slovenian language and Slovenia is recommended but not necessary

Applicants are typically a full-time senior undergraduate, masters, or PhD student from the USA, Canada, Argentina, or any other country.
