Three hundred backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out to students in grades K-8 on July 26 as part of the fourth annual Jonathan D. Daniels, MD, Memorial School Drive. Before his death in a 2022 house fire, Daniels, associate director of admissions at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and a 1998 graduate of the school, had been working to organize a school supply drive to provide tools for success for children in underserved neighborhoods in Buffalo.
