Moneybags Dumplings, a West Side eatery specializing in hand-rolled dumplings, was awarded a nearly $2,000 microgrant at this week’s Buffalo Soup & Social.

Jali Erman, the business’ founder and a UB alumnus, accepted the donation at the April 29 crowdfunding event supporting immigrant-run businesses.

Presented by UB’s Philosophy, Politics and Economics Program in partnership with the School of Public Health and Health Professions’ Office of Global Health Initiatives and BootSector, Buffalo Soup & Social is supported by grants from the John Templeton Foundation and the Mellon Foundation.
