Common questions

Why am I getting poor Wi-Fi signal strength?

There can be a number of factors:

  • Interference from walls, ceilings, metal, furniture, or even people
  • Your distance from a Wi-Fi access point
  • The number of simultaneous connections to a Wi-Fi access point

Try moving your laptop closer to the nearest access point to improve reception. If you continue to get a poor signal, report the problem to the UBIT Help Center at 716-645-3542.
